The Los Angeles Rams delivered a powerhouse first-half performance while honoring future Hall of Famer Aaron Donald, taking a commanding 31–7 lead over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at halftime on Sunday Night Football.
L.A. opened the game with touchdowns on each of its first three drives, then added a dramatic pick-six to build a 28–7 advantage. Harrison Mevis later hit a 40-yard field goal — his first of the season — pushing the lead to 31–7 before the break.
Matthew Stafford was nearly flawless, completing 19 of 23 passes for 210 yards and three touchdowns. His scores included a 1-yard TD to Davante Adams, a 5-yard strike to Colby Parkinson, and a 24-yard touchdown to Adams late in the second quarter. With that throw, Stafford became just the fourth quarterback in NFL history to record 30 touchdowns with five or fewer interceptions in his team’s first 11 games, joining Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, and Patrick Mahomes. Stafford has thrown only two interceptions all season, strengthening his MVP case.
Puka Nacua added five receptions for 80 yards, while Adams caught four passes for 52 yards and two touchdowns.
For Tampa Bay, quarterback Baker Mayfield battled through a left-shoulder injury but struggled throughout the half. Mayfield went 9-of-19 for 41 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. His pick-six came after tight end Cade Otton bobbled the ball, allowing Rams defender Cobie Durant to rip it away and return it 50 yards for a score. Mayfield also threw an interception on a Hail Mary to end the half and walked to the locker room in visible pain.
Teddy Bridgewater is the backup and may be needed in the second half.
Los Angeles will receive the ball to start the th
ird quarter.
